It’s no secret that appliances with high-power motors such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and freezers require AC power with the exact AC frequency they were designed for.  or their motors will turn too fast or slow and perform inefficiently before ultimately burning out (along with the electronics). For example, using 50 Hz electricity to power a 60 Hz motor will find the motor turning with too much power (torque), and will eventually burn out. The opposite holds true when using 60 Hz electricity to power a 50 Hz motor.

ACUPWR’s AR series Power Reducers provide a solution for anybody needing to use a 220-220-volt, 60 Hz appliance that relies on a high-power motor in countries and continents where the AC standard is 220-240-volts/50 Hz.

While not a voltage converter, The AR models provide a 25-volt (10-percent) reduction to 220-240-volt, 50-Hz output that will allow a 60 Hz motor to crank at the exact power (torque) necessary, and thus perform efficiently and without burning out. The AR reducers can be used with a dedicated 220-, 230-, 240-, and 250-volt, 50 Hz receptacle and then reduce power so a 220-240-volt, 60 high-power motor will crank at it’s necessary power (torque), as mentioned.

The AR Power Reducers are available in five different models that are capable of handling wattage loads up to 2300, 3500, 4600, 5800, and 7000 watts/volt amps. The ARs come with a NEMA 6-15R receptacle and 6-15P output plug on the AB-25-2300W and AB-25-3500W models; NEMA 6-20R receptacle and 6-20P output plug on the AR-25-4600W model; and hardwire connection with the AR-25-5800W AR-25-7000W models.
