ACUPWR’s ADC (step down) and AUC (step up) voltage transformers convert voltage while also providing a solution for the AC line frequency compatibility. This transformer allows refrigerators, freezers, wine coolers, and any appliance with a high-power motor (including stand-alone motors themselves) to be used in countries/regions with a different voltage and AC frequency standard.

High-power motors, on their own and when used in appliances, need to operate at the AC frequency they are designed for, or their motors will not turn at the necessary RPMs (revolutions per minute) for optimum efficiency. The ADC step down and AUC step up transformers provide a solution that allows 60 Hz or 50 Hz motors to work at their required RPMs. (For a detailed explanation about AC line frequency, consult our article here). The ADC/AUC-2000 is rated for 2000 watts and ideal for refrigerators with up to 35 cubic feet of interior space.

The ADC and AUC transformers enable you to relocate anywhere to any country with a 110-120-volt/60 Hz or 220-240-volt/50 Hz standard with an expensive refrigerator. Gone are the days when expats and military personnel were told to leave expensive refrigerators at home. With the ADC and AUC transformers, there's no worry about AC frequency.  [Not sure how many watts your ACUPWR voltage transformer/converter should be? Consult our Refrigerator/Freezers and Compatible ACUPWR Transformers reference chart.

[Note: ACUPWR strongly recommends using the AUC models with our AB power boosters. By adding an additional 10-percent of power to 220-240-volt AC, European motors will receive the energy needed for their particular torque demands.]

Why You’ll Love It...

American-Made Quality

The ADC and AUC models and all ACUPWR voltage transformers are manufactured in the USA with premium components that include copper wiring and silicon steel cores. All of our products are assembled by hand and bench-tested well beyond their stated wattage to ensure safety, reliability, and years of service.

No Two-Times-the-Wattage Rule!

With ACUPWR voltage transformers, there’s no need to buy a transformer with more wattage capability than you need. Our products work continuously as stated in their wattage. Unbelievably, you can’t do this with our competitors; the rule of thumb when buying a foreign-manufactured voltage transformer is to buy two-times the wattage you actually need. Therefore, if your microwave requires 500 watts, our competitors will suggest buying 1000 watts. Why? Because the transformer they actually label as “500 Watts” will stop working well before it reaches its wattage limit due to poor construction and quality. With ACUPWR, you can buy what you need!

Thermal Protection

The ACUPWR ADC/AUC-2000 uses a thermal protection circuit that detects excessive heat caused by an overload. The circuit automatically turns off the transformer and restarts the unit when it has returned to normal operating temperature.

Lifetime Warranty and Customer Support

The ADC/AUC-2000 and all ACUPWR products come with a lifetime warranty and continuous customer support. We encourage our customers to contact us with any concerns or questions about our products. Our response is timely, courteous, and supportive.

Goes Above Stated Wattage If Needed!

The ACUPWR ADC/AUC-2000 will operate at 120-percent beyond its stated wattage IF NECESSARY, such as in the event of a power surge or inrush voltage. In such an instance, It’s nice to know that that wattage “cushion” is there. Please note that we don’t recommend using an appliance with wattage requirement that is beyond what’s stated on the transformer. (Doing so can void the warranty.)
