ACUPWR’s Tru-Watts™ AD-200IEC model is a step down voltage transformer rated for loads up to 200 watts/volt amps. It converts AC from 220-240 volts to 110-120 volts, thereby allowing appliances and electronic devices that require 110-120 volts to operate in countries that use a 220-240-volt standard. The transformer’s output is a Type B-compatible (NEMA 5-15R) receptacle that accepts USA and Canada plugs. Power input comes via an IEC C13 receptacle (commonly used in consumer electronics items) and a compatible C14 13-amp power cord plug with the plug type of your choice. ACUPWR offers IEC power cords with the following plug types: Type F Schuko plug (used throughout Europe, Asia, South America, the Middle East, Africa); Type M plug (South Africa), Type G fused BS-1363 plug (United Kingdom), Type B plug (Philippines, Peru), Type I plug (Australia, New Zealand), Type J plug (Switzerland), Type D plug (India), Type H plug (Israel), Type L plug (Italy and Chile), and Type K plug (Denmark).

Thermal Protection Sensor

The key to our Tru-Watts™ capability is our proprietary thermal protection sensor. This feature serves as an overload breaker by detecting excessive heat caused by a wattage or voltage overload, and consequently turning the transformer off. The unit returns to operation when the overheating dissipates (approximately 30 minutes). The ACUPWR AD-200 will operate at 120-percent beyond its stated wattage, and even up to 200-percent for a short period. Thermal Protection

The ACUPWR AD-200 uses a thermal protection circuit that detects excessive heat caused by an overload. The circuit automatically turns off the transformer and restarts the unit when it has returned to normal operating temperature.

Plug Shapes Not a Problem!

The AD-200 voltage transformer comes with a Type F Schuko plug (common throughout Europe and other 220-240-volt regions) and a Type B (NEMA 5-15R) receptacle/output. Nonetheless, many other plug shapes are also used in 220-240-volt countries. Is this a problem? Absolutely not! ACUPWR manufactures plug adapters that can convert the Type F Schuko plug to a different plug shape for compatibility with wall outlets throughout the world.
